Homeopathy is a system of medicine based on the principle of “like cures like” developed by Samuel Hahnemann. He also developed the principle of the minimum dose, that is, the dilution and succussion of a substance to remove the toxic effects and simultaneously releasing the beneficial effects.

Homeopathy is manufactured by homeopathic pharmacies according to the standards of the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS). The medicine is regulated by the FDA.

Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) was a prominent German physician fluent in seven languages and educated in the Greek classics. He became disillusioned with the harmful medical practices of his day. While translating medical texts, he was spurred to begin experiments with substances which led to his personal discovery of the Law of Similars, or “like cures like.”

Long before him, Hippocrates knew this principle. Regarded as the Father of Medicine and known for the oath, “First, do no harm”, said, “By similar things a disease is produced and through the application of the like is cured.”
